Service
As a part of the larger NYU and New York City community, the New York Beta chapter strives to create a lasting social impact in our local community.
Community Service
Since NYC has loosened its public COVID-19 restrictions in the past year, our members were able to participate in in-person service events within our local community in NYC.
Charity Miles Food Crawl
With NYU's service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, our members walked to various food spots around NYC utilizing the Charity Miles app in October 2021. With the miles we walked, we helped sponsor over 40 corporate donations towards charities, including the World Wildlife Fund. We even met the OG Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire!
Housing Works
In collaboration with Housing Works, a New York City based non-profit fighting AIDS and homelessness, our members and rushees created bracelets during our Fall 2021 Rush Week in an effort to help fight these crises in NYC. We made over 50 bracelets for Housing Works, which were then sold to raise funds to serve this cause.
Ice Skating Fundraiser
Due to the arrival of winter and holiday festivities in December 2021, PCT hosted an ice skating fundraiser at the rink in Bryant Park to raise money for stray animals who are exposed to the harsh weather. Despite some rain on a chilly day, PCT raised over $300 for the Social Tees Animal Rescue Association.
