Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about recruitment and want a quick answer? Read on to see our responses for our most frequently asked questions!

What is pledging?

Pledging is a 8-week process to join the fraternity. You enter the process with your pledge class (i.e other students that have received bids) and together you will learn all about the world of business while completing projects and activities to bond with your class.

Do I need to be a certain class year to rush (i.e. class of 202x)?

Absolutely not! Phi Chi Theta accepts rushees from every undergraduate class year. It is never too early/late to rush and we would encourage you to do so!

Is there a major/school requirement to join PCT?

You do not have to be a specific school or major to join PCT––all we seek is an interest in business. Whether you are in Stern, CAS, Steinhardt or any other school... Our doors are open! Our brothers have majors that range from Finance to Computer Science, Economics and even Nutrition! If your direct major is not business related, we look for a minor in Business Studies.

How many events should I attend?

Try your best to attend as many events as you can! We recommend you attending at least 3 events, including one Meet the Brothers event. There is a section of the application under which you can indicate which events you were able to attend and explain why you missed certain events.

How do I apply?

Fill out the application form found on our website with all information. Submit it by 5pm on Friday 2/02 to be considered for our invite only event on Saturday, 2/03!

What can I do to use my time wisely during rush week?

Try to get to know as many members as possible. Phi Chi Theta has many members that would love to get to know you beyond just the surface level. Engage in deeper conversations and bond with our brothers! :)

Is there another way to get to know members besides rush events?

We offer E-Board coffee chats all throughout rush week. Sign up to be paired with a member and have all your questions answered or just get to know us better through a one-on-one!

Can I rush other fraternities/organizations at the same time?

Yes, that is possible during the rush process! Be aware that you may only accept one bid to join a fraternity.
